Tuesday afternoons will 'rock' this summer

SRP logoIn a summer filled with rock-themed activities at the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, a time for children not to miss is Tuesday afternoons, when a different rock-themed activity awaits each week.

The programs begin at 3 p.m. each Tuesday in June and July and will feature a different theme each week. Activities are geared to ages 11 and under. The schedule for June features:

June 5 - Libraries Rock with Music: from a musical story to a game of musical chairs, it's an afternoon of songs.

June 12 - Rock Out with String Instruments: Join in a jam session and learn a little bit about different types of stringed instruments.

June 19 - The Rock Cycle: Look at the ways that rocks are recycled through different earth systems and paint your own kindness rock.

June 26 - Libraries Rock with Pete the Cat: Join Pete in his adventure "Rocking in My School Shoes" and do a craft related to the book.

Registration is not required to attend any of the programs.
