Come to the library for stories and a new series for infants

Dad readingThe Tecumseh Public Library invites families with young children to its weekly Thursday morning activities, as well as a new event for infants, during September.

Family Play Time/la hora de jugar en familia, at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, is a bilingual event combining play, art and literacy. It is geared to children up to age 5 and their caregivers.

Toddler Story Time, at 11 a.m. on Thursdays, Sept. 14, 21 and 28, is a morning of stories and activities for preschool age children and their caregivers.

And the library will debut a new five-week series in September. Infant Massage, for babies up to age 1 and their caregivers, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on five consecutive Tuesdays, from Sept. 26 through Oct. 24.

Carrie Smith, RN, of the Pottawatomie County Health Department, will lead the sessions, providing parents with information and practice on the benefits of massage for their babies. Participants should bring their child, a medium-sized blanket that can be rolled and their baby’s diaper bag.

Registration is required for the events separately.
