Find an activity for your child at the library

Baby readsThe Tecumseh Public Library invites families with young children to its schedule of activities during the week.

Viva GLARt! Grow a Learner Through Art, scheduled at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, is a bilingual event combining play, art and literacy. It is geared to children up to age 5 and their caregivers.

Toddler Story Time takes place at 11 a.m. on Thursdays, Oct. 12, 19 and 26, and is a morning of stories and activities for preschool age children and their caregivers.

The library continues a new series, Infant Massage, for babies up to age 1 and their caregivers. It will take place at 10:30 a.m. on five consecutive Tuesdays, from Sept. 26 through Oct. 24.

Carrie Smith, RN, with the Pottawatomie County Health Department, will lead the sessions, providing parents with information and practice on the benefits of massage for their babies. Participants should bring their child, a medium-sized blanket that can be rolled and their baby’s diaper bag.

And the Pottawatomie County OSU Extension Service visits for the program “I Can Do That! Growing Up 101” at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17. Children ages 6 to 11 will learn some basics of sewing, ironing and cleaning to help them as they move toward independence.

Registration is required separately for each of the events.
