Read with the library in variety of activities for children

Girl and bearThe Tecumseh Public Library welcomes families with young children for several weekly activities offered to introduce their children to the library.

New readers can make a new friend and practice their reading in the library’s “Sit! Stay! Read!” program, offered from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, March 7 and March 28. Trained therapy dogs and their handlers visit the library to listen to readers in a comfortable atmosphere for the children.

Parents or guardians should call the library at 598-5955 to schedule a 15-minute time slot for their child to read to one of the dogs.

The library’s Preschool Story Time series continues in March with activities on Thursdays, March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. Each week’s Preschool Story Time brings songs, finger plays, rhymes and stories along with early literacy tips to get children ready to read.

Registration is not required for the story times.
