Tecumseh Friends welcome author for membership event

Boy Who Carried Bricks coverThe Friends of the Tecumseh Public Library group welcomes the public to its annual Membership Drive event, featuring a visit from author Alton Carter, taking place at 7 p.m. Monday, March 26, at the library.

The special guest will be Alton Carter, author of the memoir The Boy Who Carried Bricks, who will discuss his writing and have book available for purchase.

The event will give attendees a chance to register to become a member of the Friends of the Tecumseh Library. The group works to promote public awareness of the library, encourage legislative support, and contribute to programs that would otherwise go unfunded. Friends sponsor educational and cultural programs for the community, encourage gifts and bequests to the library and volunteer for special projects and events.

Individual dues are $10, family memberships are $15, nonprofit organization membership is $25, business membership is $50, and patron dues are $100.

Ages 18 and up may attend. Registration is not required in advance.
