Get a start on this year’s Summer Reading Program with the Tecumseh Public Library and its SRP Kickoff Concert, featuring the Sugar Free Allstars, at 5 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Slick Humphrey Park in Tecumseh.
The Sugar Free Allstars bring a blend of musical styles with family-friendly lyrics and have been regulars around the library’s Summer Reading Program for many years.
This year’s theme, “Libraries Rock!” is giving a chance to explore literal rocks with the Museum of Osteology or PLS Maker Mobile staff to “rocking” with music and art programs led by a variety of local performers.
Summer activities begin in earnest throughout June and July, with a variety of programs and presentations for children, teens and adults planned.
Sponsors for this year’s Summer Reading Program are the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation, Friends of the Library groups, Hitachi Computer Products of America Inc., Institute of Museum and Library Services, Oklahoma College Savings Plan, the Pioneer Library System, Pioneer Library System Foundation, Sonic – America’s Drive-In, Corp., the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Oklahoman Newspapers in Education.
