DEAR Visitor,

September begins with Labor Day on September 2nd and flourishes into a book-filled month! There are many author visits, book discussions, and book sales this month throughout the PLS community, so come on out and explore something new with us!

Local Author Visits McLoud

Oklahoma author Jessie Duncan hosts a lively discussion about her new book, "Dragon Enchanters: The Irish Princesses" on Sep. 21st at 11 AM in McLoud. Check out the following description of her book to see if you would be interested in attending:

"Five Irish princesses were raised with a father who wanted angels who could follow rules. Like their mother, they want to live life to the fullest and have fun. The princesses enjoy sword fighting, archery, and making weapons while their father disagrees.

One night, after an argument with their father, a mistake sends them to a new land. In this land, they are presented with humans who are being tortured, murdered, and forced from their homes because of power hungry gods. As they remain in this land longer, they make new friends (some being gods), and together they decide that their destiny was to protect the humans. In order to do this, they are sent to five the last five dragons in existence.

The problem being, no one knows how to find them. An impossible journey being made by impossible friends hoping to come out on top."

Teen Author Trio

Three local talented teen authors have agreed to tour the Pioneer Library System this month, and we're thankful to have them share their passion for writing and literature with us!

Sonia Gensler enjoys writing young adult historical and paranormal fiction since she always daydreamed about the past in her teenage years. So far, she has written two distinct works: The Revenant and The Dark Between.

Tessa Gratton writes speculative young adult fiction since she couldn't be a witch or a dinosaur handler. However, she still keeps those desires close by incorporating some of it into her books. Some of her works include: Blood Magic and The Lost Sun.

Tara Husdon tells ghostly romance stories, which was somewhat supported by her hobby of visting abandoned cemeteries as a teen. Check out the beginning of her trilogy with Hereafter.

These three young adult writers will be taking a roadtrip together across the Pioneer Library System as they tour from library to library and meet with readers and aspiring writers.

If you are interested in attending, please take a look at library visit dates below for their week long tour. We hope to see you there!
