December is full of book discussions and holiday parties throughout the PLS community, so come on out and explore your holiday spirit with us!

December Closings

Hello Visitor,

Grand Opening

Norman Public Library West, located at 300 Norman Center Court, will have its grand opening on Thursday, December 12th at 6 p.m., which will begin with a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony.

Following the dedication, there will be an Open House of the public library and administration offices so patrons can explore the new building.

The Norman Public Library, 225 North Webster, holiday party will be conjoined with this open house. Attendees can enjoy light entertainment and light snacks during the party, so come join us!

There are plenty of holiday parties and events around the Pioneer Library System this month for people to enjoy, and we're thankful to have such a lovely community with which to share our holiday spirit!

Moore: Dec. 6 - Moore Holiday Gala

The evening will feature activities throughout the library including a gingerbread making contest, crafts, local musical groups, a Holiday "Sing-a-Song" and pictures with Santa.

Newcastle: Dec. 11 - "It's the Season to be Crafty"

Come and join us as we celebrate the season with crafts, trivia and snacks for all ages.

Noble: Dec. 6 - Holly Jolly Jubilee

Join the Noble Library to celebrate the season! We will have choirs, holiday cookies, holiday stories, adult crafts, kids crafts, and most importantly Santa Claus!!

Purcell: Dec. 10 - Gingerbread House Family Story Time

A fun program for the whole family. Invite grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles for a multi-generational story time that includes a light dinner.

Shawnee: Dec. 19 - Holiday Reception

Join library staff for a festive holiday reception and enjoy hot cider and cookies.

Tecumseh: Dec. 7 - Old Fashioned Christmas Gala

Bring the whole family and celebrate the holidays at our annual Christmas Gala. We'll have free pictures with Santa from 10 a,m,-Noon for children 12 and under, entertainment, free crafts, games, prizes, free balloons, free hot chocolate, cookies, and vendors who will offer a variety of items for sale.

Norman Flooring Project

The Norman Public Library will be getting new flooring from the City of Norman beginning the first week of December. It is currently unknown when the project will be completed. Due to this project, parts of the building with be closed off for renovations. Books and other materials in the areas being worked on will be moved to the Lowry Room within the library until the flooring for the area has been completely installed.
