Hat and bootsThe Pioneer Library System and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum are partnering to give access to the museum for library card holders.

Each of the 12 libraries in the Pioneer Library System will have a pass that can be checked out for seven days at a time, and the pass will gain general admission for up to five people to the museum, located at 1700 NE 63rd St. in Oklahoma City.

Any PLS cardholder age 18 or up may check out one pass from any PLS location, and the passes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Each pass must be checked out from and returned to the individual library where it originated. Due to high demand, passes may not be renewed.

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. More information is available through the museum’s website.

As part of its “Museum Experiences” initiative, PLS also has a similar partnership with the Oklahoma Museum Network for a general admission pass to the five facilities that are part of the OMN – the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum in Seminole; Leonardo’s Children’s Museum in Enid; Museum of the Great Plains in Lawton; Tulsa Children’s Museum Discovery Lab; and Science Museum Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.
