Norman Public Library Central and the City of Norman are getting the holiday season started with a Community Tree Lighting and the library’s annual Holiday Open House, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the library.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with the Tree Lighting at Andrews Park, featuring music, refreshments and the Tree Lighting ceremony.

Activities shift over to the library at 6:30 p.m. and will include craft projects for youngsters, a variety of musical performances from members of the community as part of the annual Holiday Sing-Along and a visit from Santa.

Also, all in attendance will take home a commemorative songbook that includes holiday activities and book lists.

The program is sponsored by the City of Norman and the Friends of the Norman Library. All ages are invited to attend, and registration is not required in advance.
