The Purcell Public Library continues its longtime community tradition of celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in September and October, but this year is expanding the festivities from a one-night festival to four separate Thursday evening activities.

The events commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month, which has been celebrated annually from September 15 to October 15 every year since 1988.

The schedule features:

Comida y Musica: 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 – It’s a night of food and music with up-beat tunes and a variety of food vendors selling Hispanic favorites;

Noche de Pelicula y Arte: 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 – It’s a family-friendly movie presentation that also will include themed crafts;

Cocina Festiva: 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 – This interactive cooking program will help attendees make foods using an InstaPot or air fryer. All ingredients and appliances will be provided.

Espectaculo de Luces: 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10Inspyral Circus will bring its glow show to the library for a Day of the Dead-themed presentation;

All ages are invited to each event, and no advance registration is required to attend.
