The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library presents a variety of age-appropriate activities throughout August for children and their families.
A featured event this month is the library’s “Power Up” Back to School Bash, scheduled at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 in Rooms A and B. Attendees can dress as their favorite superhero and use their powers to complete challenges throughout the library.
There will be food trucks and more. No advance registration is required.
More activities planned during the month include:
Baby Lapsit, 10 a.m. each Thursday – for ages 18 months and younger;
Preschool Story Time, 10 a.m. each Friday – for ages 3 to 6;
Citizen Science, Mosquitos, 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 - for ages 8 to 11;
Little Movers Story Time, 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 19 and 26 – for ages 18 to 36 months;
Early Explorers, 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 19 and 26 – for ages 1 to 4;
Touch, Learn, Create: Dinosaurs, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21 – sensory activities for ages 2 to 6;
Music Together, 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 – a musical morning for children of all ages and their families;
