Girl and boyJoin the Blanchard Public Library for time set aside for its youngest readers at Family Story Time at 10:30 a.m. each Monday the library is open.

Each week’s Story Time will feature songs, rhymes, flannel board fun, music and bubble time, as well as sensory activities and craft projects.

Also featured is the library’s bilingual activity Viva GLARt! Grow a Learner Through Art, which will next take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18. Activities are for ages 5 and under and their caregivers and provide a chance for children to learn and develop their brains through simple play.

Young readers also get a great chance to practice their reading and make a new friend through the library’s Bow Wow Books program. On Mondays at 3:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 10, parents or guardians may sign their child up to read to a therapy dog in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Call the library at 485-2275 to reserve a session.
