Stop by for a story during the holiday season

Kid in costumeThe Blanchard Public Library introduces youngsters to a love of reading and the library at its Family Story Time, with December programs scheduled at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, Dec. 3, 10 and 17 before a break for the holidays.

Each week’s Story Time will feature songs, rhymes, flannel board fun, music and bubble time, as well as sensory activities and craft projects. 

Also offered during December is the library’s bilingual activity Viva GLARt! Grow a Learner Through Art, which will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6. Activities are for ages 5 and under and their caregivers and is a chance for children to learn and develop their brains through simple play.

Young readers also get a great chance to practice their reading and make a new friend through the library’s Bow Wow Books program, offered from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Dec. 3, 10 and 17.

Parents or guardians may sign their child up to read to a therapy dog in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Call the library at 485-2275 to reserve a session.
