Visit the library for events focused on children

Kids readingThe Blanchard Public Library is bringing a love of reading and the library to its youngest readers at Family Story Time, with upcoming events scheduled at 10:30 a.m. each Monday in August.

Each week’s Story Time will feature songs, rhymes, flannel board fun, music and bubble time, as well as sensory activities and craft projects. 

The library also presents multiple afterschool events for slightly older children in the latter part of the month.

Kids Making Healthy Afterschool Snacks, at 3:40 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, gives children the skills and easy recipes to make a tasty snack using provided supplies.

Creative Building for Kids, at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, shifts the focus to technology and building in a STEAM-based program using items like Legos, K-Nex, Magna-Ti;les and more. All ages of children may attend.
