The Moore Public Library’s Girls Who Code Club is staying busy this fall working on a variety of topics and learning from many local experts.
On Monday, Oct. 22, the group welcomed guest speaker Deidre Ebrey, Director of Economic Development for the City of Moore. The group discussed the concepts of True Economic Development, Workforce Readiness, and Retail Opportunities in Oklahoma.
The following week, the club received an introduction to the coding languages of C++ and Python via the Library System’s Arduino and CrazyFlie 2.0 Quadcopter STEAM kits. Arduino introduces the basics of electricity and circuitry along with a simplified version of C++ to promote creativity in design and electronics projects.
The CrazyFlie 2.0 Quadcopters introduced the Python coding language, problem solving, trial and error iteration, along with the concepts of load balance, roll, pitch, yaw, and thrust.
