Exercise mind and body at the library

YogaThe Moore Public Library is adding to its series of popular workout programs offered on a regular basis.

In addition to its continuing yoga and Zumba classes, the library has added a new Friday evening series that will change themes each month. The first series, “Meet Us at the Barre,” takes place at 6 p.m. each Friday in January and will feature an introduction to Barre fitness, a high-energy, low-impact and fat burning workout. Jenny Stiner with “Balance. Yoga. Barre” will lead the classes.

Beginner’s Yoga continues at 6 p.m. on Mondays the library is open (Jan. 7, Jan. 14 and Jan. 28) in January. The workouts are designed to increase flexibility, balance and coordination through poses. A limited number of mats will be provided or attendees may bring their own.

The library’s Zumba series is scheduled at 6 p.m. each Thursday in January. It features a high-energy workout done to Latin and international music.

Teens or adults may participate in any of the classes. Registration and a signed waiver are required in advance.

The library’s workout series is funded through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
