Wednesday morning brings special time for young readers

Kid in costumeThe Newcastle Public Library is bringing a love of reading and literacy to families with preschool children as part of its weekly story times, taking place on each Wednesday during April.

The library’s Pre-K Story Time, at 10 a.m., provides stories, songs, activities and a craft. It’s geared to ages 2 to 5 but babies and even older children are welcome too.

And for families with younger children, the library hosts Baby Story Time at 11 a.m. each Wednesday of the month. These programs will feature songs, rhymes and stories that appeal to babies 15 months and younger and their caregivers.

Registration is encouraged in advance for each of the programs.
