Experience stories and more on Wednesday mornings

KidSummer is almost here, but there’s no need to wait for a positive activity with the Newcastle Public Library. Our staff is bringing a love of reading and literacy to families with preschool children as part of weekly story times, taking place on Wednesday mornings.

The library’s Pre-K Story Time, at 10 a.m., provides stories, songs, activities and a craft. It’s geared to ages 2 to 5 but babies and even older children are welcome too. Story Times take place on May 1, 8, 15 and 22, with the library's Summer Learning Kickoff event planned at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29.

And for families with younger children, the library hosts Baby Story Time at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, May 1, 15 and 22 during May. These programs will feature songs, rhymes and stories that appeal to babies 15 months and younger and their caregivers.

Registration is encouraged in advance for each of the programs.
