Norman Public Library Central invites local job seekers hoping to take the next step in their career to visit the library for several upcoming activities leading up to the Norman Community Job Fair the library will host in early October.
The schedule features:
Employment Workshop, 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 – Learn the basics of writing a winning resume, tips for a successful interview and more.
Learning to Use LinkedIn, 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 – As a tool for searching for employment or boosting a small business, the LinkedIn website can offer benefits.
Program presenter Joshua Sauer, Web and Interactive Media Specialist with Moore Norman Technology Center, will demonstrate creating an account, successfully navigating the website, searching for prospective clients or employers and more.
Resume Reviews for Success, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 – Make a 30-minute appointment with one of the library’s resume specialists to have your resume reviewed and get suggestions for improving it. Once you register for the event, a Business Outreach Specialist will call to schedule your 30-minute appointment.
Each of the above events is for ages 18 and up, and advance registration is required.
They all lead up to the library’s Community Job Fair, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Lowry Room.
That event will feature visits from local employers for onsite interviews and more information about their organizations and a chance for job seekers to get resume and cover letter assistance, use the library’s Computer Training Center for immediate application process and more.
