Norman Public Library West dives into the elements of the library STEAM programs – science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics – during a series of programs scheduled during Spring Break, March 18-22.
It’s a chance to use some of the library’s STEAM kits and other sources for creative purposes. Times, topics and specifics on the programs include:
Squishy Circuits, 11 a.m. Monday, March 18 – Ages 9 to 12 will learn about basic circuits by using conductive dough.
Magazine Wall Art, 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 – Teens will take rolled magazine pages and turn them into new artistic creations.
Lego WeDo, 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20 – Code, build and collaborate with the library’s Lego WeDo 2.0 sets in an activity for tweens.
Vinyl Stickers, 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21 – Teens will use a Vinyl Cutter to cut a design made using computer software. Each attendee will get to go home with their own unique vinyl stickers.
Celtic Knot Rocks, 2 p.m. Friday, March 22 – Ages 9 and up can etch Celtic knots onto rocks using the library’s Laser Cutter and take home their one-of-a-kind piece of rock art.
Registration is required separately for each of the programs.
