Find resources tailored to African-American genealogy

Family TreeThe Purcell Public Library expands on its family history research opportunities in February with a special program, Genealogy Resources for African-American History Month, taking place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the library.

This workshop will look into several resources available through the library that are of particular value to genealogists researching African-American family trees. Attendees to the program will see examples of what can be shown by the resources and how to use them.

The library also offers a weekly Genealogy Help session from 2 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday during February. An experienced genealogist will be available to answer any questions about family tree issues and resources for research.

Ages 18 and up are invited to attend any of the activities, and no advance registration is required.
