The Blanchard Public Library is building creativity with multiple Lego program options offered for children during January.
The library presents afterschool events, each starting at 3:45 p.m. on the first three Thursdays of the month.
Jan. 4 – Create With Legos, for ages 3 to 12, features free building or several building challenges and Lego sets ranging from Star Wars to Super Heroes and Friends.
Jan. 11 – Lego WeDo, for children in 2nd through 6th grades, brings STEM and robotics to life through Lego projects. Registration is required in advance.
Jan. 18 - Lego WeDo Advanced, for children in 2nd through 6th grades, brings STEM and robotics to life through even more advanced Lego projects. Registration is required in advance, and the Lego WeDo activities are provided thanks to funding through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with funds from the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), a federal source of library funding provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Service.
And the library also hosts a special Lego Day Celebration from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, with not just Legos to create with but also a showing of the Lego Batman movie and more.
