The Newcastle Public Library invites school-age children to take part in its continuing series of activities taking place at 2 p.m. on most Fridays that school is in session, including three Friday afternoon during December.

Programs include:

Dec. 6 Decorate “Gingerbread” Houses, transform graham crackers into festive gingerbread houses.

Dec. 13Magna-Tiles: A House Building Exploration, after reading the classic folk tale “The Three Little Pigs,” participants will build houses with straws, sticks and Magna-Tiles and then try to blow them down.

Dec. 20 Making Latkes with the Hanukkah Bear, featuring a reading of “Hanukkah Bear” by Eric Kimmel and then using the book’s recipe to make latkes.

Dec. 27 - Create a Masterpiece in the Style of Claude Monet, an art project based on the painter and his work.

Registration is required separately for each week’s activity.
