These provide space and engagement for library programming held in our parks, meeting our community where they are. This project addresses a need in our cities for enriched recreational activities by adding a new dimension to the playground and encouraging creativity and exploration through music. It positively impacts the community by creating a destination point as a unique landmark, attracting families and promoting community gathering.
This project supports PLS’s strategic plan and programming in the areas of STEAM and health. We are extending services outside library walls, encouraging creativity, sensory learning, and exploration through music and movement. Studies show that musical play equipment in outdoor spaces enhances creativity and problem-solving skills, improves motor skills and coordination, and encourages social interaction and collaboration.
